We are happy to announce our partnership with Giant Food Stores, Capelli New York, and The Latino Hispanic American Community Center (LHACC). Thanks to this partnership we have collected over 200 lbs of items so far and expect to collect many more. This allows us to provide a large number of children with winter items during the KEEP THE CHILDREN WARM Community Event. There continues to be a huge need for winter clothing for our youth, perhaps more so with the added challenges of the COVID-19 virus. We are determined to find creative ways to be socially responsible while at the same time ensuring that area children have the items they will need when the snow and cold arrives. Please consider joining us in this event by volunteering or donating, so we can fulfill what our title says: Keep The Children Warm.
Items needed include, but are not limited to, hats, gloves, blankets, etc. Monetary Donations are also accepted and can be sent to East Penn Soccer Club, 174 Wyoming Ave, Enola, PA, 17025.
These items will be distributed at the LHACC center in Harrisburg on January 23, 2021, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The center's address is 1301 Derry St, Harrisburg, PA, 17104. For more info about this event, volunteering, or donating, please email us at info@eastpennsoccerclub.org.
KEEP THE CHILDREN WARM FLYER
Latino Hispanic American Community Center (LHACC)
Since LHACC opened in July 2010, it has served the community, through its culturally competent bilingual staff, offering information, referral and follow-up services and case management services.
In 2013, the United Way of the Capital Region, who had been instrumental in supporting LHACC’s development, designated LHACC as a United Way Partner Organization.
LHACC provides services that support basic human needs including food, clothing, and shelter. The organization also supports individuals with immigration matters, employment assistance, education needs such as GED and ESL, both physical and mental health services, intervention services including family relocation, domestic violence, scams, fraud, identify theft, and other legal matters; housing and tenant issues.
LHACC is the only Latino Center in the tri-county area of Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry counties. It maintains a fully bilingual staff. The center advocates for and assists clients through its Intake Referral/Follow-up and Outreach Operation, and public service and educational programs. LHACC also conducts extensive outreach in order to maximize resources and increase capacity and scope of delivery.

Giant
The Giant Company is an American supermarket chain that operates stores in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. The chain operates full-scale supermarkets under the Giant and Martin's banners along with small-scale urban stores under the Giant Heirloom Market banner. Giant is a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Ahold Delhaize, which also owns similarly-named Giant Food of Landover, Maryland, often known as Giant-Landover; to distinguish from that chain, whose stores also operate under the Giant banner (albeit with a different logo), The GIANT Company is often referred to as Giant-Carlisle or Giant/Martin's.
